The Spectra Sensor measures the spectral reflection coefficient of surfaces. It has a built-in light source with continuous spectrum. Device compares the spectra of the light source shining on the surface under analysis and the spectra of light reflected by the surface. The resulting data from the comparison is the spectral reflection coefficient of surface. Each unit is separately calibrated. The spectral reflection of a colored surface is shown as a graph or in numerical format. Measurement results can be saved as text or bitmap.

The Spectra Sensor's PDA has 128 pixels.  The PDA detector has a spectral range sensitivity of 400 through 800 nanometers.  Spectral resolution is 10 nanometers.  Signal from each cell of the PDA is processed by a 10-bit analog-to-digital converter.  2 high-low opto-coupled outputs can be activated
